Some say what is destined will happen. It can be but not wholly. I feel otherwise. I am the maker of my destiny. If I want I can revert it by my ability to mould my karmas towards the better destiny. The seeds of the karmas take place in the mind. The thought waves remain dormant till they manifest themselves into actions. The thoughts are seeds of karmas and actions. The discharge of action brings forth a being into existence life after life. These accumulate and are inherited from one birth to the next. They then manifest themselves as destiny.
Performance of karmas is of three types:
- Satvik or prevalance of good sense.
- Rajsik or prevalance of sense of “action of passion”
- Tamsik or prevalance of action of inertia.
Satvik karmas when prevalent suppress rajsik and tamsik. Rajsik karmas when prevalent suppress satvik and tamsik. Tamsik when dominate, they suppress rajsik and tamsik both. So if we want to master our own destiny we must act to accumulate our actions as we wish. A man who takes birth in a high family does not necessarily perform satvik karmas. The next birth depends on the types of karmas that we perform.
